Laramie Letters 9.20.22
Letter from the Principal
Dear San Tan Families,
What a great start to our MARVELous Homecoming week! Opposite day and Decades day have been a HIT so far. We have Captain America (Red, White and Blue) day coming up tomorrow, Infinity Stones day (class colors) on Thursday and wrapping up with “Roadrunners Assemble Day” (Super School Spirit Green Gold and White) on Friday!!
Our Door Decorating Contest doors are starting to take shape!! I cannot wait to see the final products on Friday!! I have attached the rubric for the door decorating contest in this email so you can spot all the fun! We also have our Peace Day on tomorrow, which we are looking forward to!
To wrap up this week we have half days on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Dismissal is from 11:00-11:30. I know that often on half days, other people like grandparents pick up. Please ensure that they have their car tags with them in order to pick up. We will be strictly enforcing the rule that if no car tag is present, we will be asking for those picking up to come inside to show ID to bring the students from the classroom. If you need an extra car tag to give to grandparents or siblings, please come into the front office to request a blank one.
– Mrs. Sarah Laramie
Important Announcements
Homecoming Game
Join us for our homecoming football game starting at 7:00 pm at the Power Campus. The theme of the game is “Sea of Green”, if you wear green, you will get a dollar off admittance!
In celebration of a job well done with singing the National Anthem at the Diamondbacks Game, we are inviting the choir to perform at the Homecoming Football Game September 23rd. National Anthem would be sung about 6:45 PM and the students will also be trained to sing the San Tan Fight as the choir will sing the fight song during the first score (touchdown/field goal).
To Sign Up To Sing Please Click Here
Peace Day
Typically, we have an activity on the day to remind our students about how to bring peace to the world. Last year, we focused on mindfulness and destressing activities. This year, we are looking at inclusiveness and how to show friends that you care.
Student and the teachers will be creating and decorating a Buddy Bench for our playground. Buddy Benches were invented to combat loneliness in schools. Students will be guided to understand that those who sit on the Buddy Bench are nonverbally signally to others that they are feeling lonely and isolated and need a friend to play with or someone to talk to. Student will make promises to invite those who are sitting on the Buddy Bench to play or talk by tying a ribbon to the bench, symbolizing their promise.
Parent-Teacher Conference Dinner Donations
We are having our Fall Late-night Parent Teacher Conference Thursday September 22nd and would greatly appreciate your donations for dinner. Our teachers and staff will be here all day and night and love your kindness and amazing dinners! The theme this time around is “Breakfast for Dinner”!
If you are able to donate, please drop off all non-perishable items on or before Wednesday, September 21st. Perishable items can be dropped off after school until 4:00 on September 22nd.

Washington DC EF Tours
Our list of registered travelers and those interested in travelling is growing each day. Please see our list of travel locations for next school year!
At San Tan, we believe in encouraging our students to learn through experiences and have selected the following trip to aid in that discovery. We have organized a trip to Washington D.C. and Williamsburg. This trip was previously restricted to just 6th grade students, however, we have decided that this trip is so rich in history and experiences that we want to open up this trip to ALL San Tan families and students ages 6+. Students in grades K-5 must have a chaperone attending with this trip.
This trip is all inclusive which includes the following:
- All transportation including airfare
- Round-trip Tour Director
- Safe, Quality hotel accommodations
- All meals
- All tips and gratuities
- All Guided tours and activities
With travel prices increasing every day, this is an incredible opportunity that is actually very cost effective for all that you are getting. I highly recommend this trip as it is an amazing opportunity for your student to learn more about our country, gain new perspectives, get out of their comfort zone and build skills for the future.
